FDA-approved TPE sheaths for 105 °C applications

Hygiene, cleaning cycles and continuous temperature – in food and beverage production, cables must be able to do more than just carry electricity. With our TPE sheath styles 22126, 22127 and 22128, we offer FDA-approved sheaths with cUR approval for 105 °C, in three voltage classes and with particularly thin wall thicknesses. This saves space in compact assemblies – and the cable withstands cleaning agents and steam sterilisation.

HYGIENE MEETS CABLE TECHNOLOGY

  • cUR approval for the temperature range –10 °C to +105 °C
  • Voltage classes 300 V, 600 V and 1,000 V
  • Low wall thicknesses: 0.58 mm (23 mils), even at 1,000 V – minimum permissible wall thickness 0.46 mm (18 mils)
  • Shielded and unshielded versions
  • For connecting electronic components in the food and beverage sector

Properties

  • Low space requirement, high flexibility – due to low wall thickness and soft Shore hardness of the sheath
  • Excellent ageing properties – reduction in tensile strength and elongation at 136 °C / 7 days below 25%
  • Good chemical resistance – also against oxidising cleaning agents in the food sector; resistance testing for specific cleaning agents available on request
  • Good autoclavability – sterilisation with steam pressure; further testing available on request
  • LABS-free – free from paint-wetting impairment substances
  • ATEX-compliant – depending on the structural design
  • Note: no flame retardancy – due to the requirements of FDA approval
